Esteemed Star The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
American performer Finn, who featured in iconic TV shows like "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died aged 60.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in LA recently having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, as reported by reports.
"Pat never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones stated in a statement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Television Career
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on several popular shows, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote on social media.
Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
