Netflix Selects Perfect Star for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Season 3
Baroque Works is poised to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the major clash isn’t set to occur until the next season, and a adored, popular member has now been chosen.
Netflix announced recently that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Mr. 2. This character can use their power to morph into an exact copy of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. The actor, who is identifies as non-binary and goes by they/them, will play a version of that figure reimagined as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the original manga and anime.
The new cast member joins multiple recently announced actors set to bring the group to reality, such as head the main antagonist, played by the seasoned performer, an emerging star as another operative, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the lineup as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta.
Though this character is a key figure of Baroque Works, the individual will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Given season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this signals a significant shift in the timing of their first appearance, one that could indicate further changes to the plot development.
Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the character. Along with their current animated role in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, emphasizing the range they’ll add to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is set to return for its next installment on the tenth of March, 2026.
