Seamer Gus Atkinson Adds to England's Injury Worries.

'Significant concern' for the touring side as Atkinson is forced off suffering a hamstring problem.

The English seamer increased the injury concerns plaguing England when he left the playing area during Saturday's play of the Boxing Day Test versus the Australians.

Atkinson felt a problem in his left hamstring post-delivery that he bowled during the morning session.

The England team reported Atkinson reported "discomfort" and required time on the sidelines in order to be assessed "during the day".

The concluding match of the tour at the SCG starts at the end of the week.

The English side has been without fast bowlers one seamer due to knee trouble and Jofra Archer because of a side injury on the current trip.

Matthew Fisher was added to the party to provide backup.

Atkinson struggled during the first two matches, managing only three wickets.

He was dropped from the previous Test, before being recalled for the Melbourne Test as Archer's replacement.

Surrey's Atkinson improved at the MCG, claiming a couple of wickets with the ball, before adding 28 as a batsman among just a trio of English batsmen who passed ten runs.

After bowling one over in Australia's second innings, he resumed for the second day's play and removed Scott Boland taken by the wicketkeeper.

Unfortunately, on the final ball of that over, he bowled a change of pace to Travis Head and promptly felt at his leg.

Atkinson returned to the side for the Melbourne match after being left out of the third.
